LONDON, 12th June 2023: Today, SKIMS has announced the opening of its first-ever European pop-up experience at the iconic Corner Shop at Selfridges London. The brand continues to create one of a kind, viral retail activations for its customers and the latest immersive pop-up experience brings SKIMS Swim to Europe for the first time, allowing visitors the chance to shop the best-selling collection exclusively at Selfridges just in time for summer.

The SKIMS residency in The Selfridges Corner Shop  is the most conceptual SKIMS pop-up experience to date, designed in partnership with the brand’s long-time collaborator, Willo Perron of Perron-Roettinger. The space has been transformed into a Summer Los Angeles poolside oasis, featuring spectacular diving boards and eye-catching palm tree structures. Customers will also get to indulge in the viral, custom SKIMS ice cream treats by Chin Chin Labs whilst they shop.

The vibrant shop features the ultimate assortment of must-have SKIMS Swim essentials for the season, including SKIMS Swim signature cuts in multiple coverage levels for all your needs in the water and beyond. Throughout the month-long pop-up, customers will be able to shop new products every week from limited-edition swim collections to the latest seasonal colourways.

The pop-up experience at The Selfridges Corner Shop follows the opening of SKIMS Summer Pop-Up in New York in May where visitors waited in a queue for over 2 hours every day to shop. SKIMS will continue to capitalize on its successful pop-ups experiences and its strong e-commerce and multi-brand business in the UK and Europe, as the brand reveals plans to expand into free standing stores across the UK and EU territories within the next 3 years.

The SKIMS Corner Shop is part of a continued partnership with SKIMS and the leading luxury British retailer, Selfridges. Off the back of the pop-up, the brand will open a redesigned and expanded permanent SKIMS shop-in-shop space within Selfridges this summer.“I’m thrilled to open our first international pop-up experience at the iconic Selfridges Corner Shop. We expect demand and buzz to be high as this is the first time SKIMS Swim will be available in retail outside of the U.S,” saidJens Grede, Co-Founder & CEO, SKIMS“The pop-up experience will set the tone for the future of SKIMS in London, as the cultural and fashion destination is a key market for our global expansion.”

“As we look to establish SKIMS as a global brand, Selfridges London is the optimal starting point for the next phase of SKIMS journey with our existing customer base in the UK and unparalleled business at Selfridges to date. The pop-up experience and expansion of our permanent shop-in-shop space at Selfridges set the framework for our global retail strategy, and we will continue to leverage multi-brand partnerships this year as we plan to open 35 shop-in-shops in the U.S. and internationally.” Robert Norton, Chief Commercial Officer, SKIMS.

“We are extremely excited to welcome SKIMS Swim to the Selfridges Corner Shop, continuing to build on our long-standing relationship with the brand. We know our customers love SKIMS product and its distinct point of view. We are looking forward to Selfridges customers being the first to explore the SKIMS Swim collection in Europe, with an extraordinary shopping experience that will get everyone in the mood for summer.” Bosse Myhr, Selfridges Director of Womenswear & Menswear.

Co-founded in 2019 by Kim Kardashian and Jens Grede, SKIMS is the solutions-oriented brand creating the next generation of underwear, loungewear and shapewear and setting new standards by providing solutions for every body. From technically constructed shapewear that enhances your curves to underwear that stretches to twice its size, the brand’s goal is to consistently innovate on the past and advance the industry. SKIMS sells directly through its website (, as well as through select partnerships with retailers including Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Selfridges, SSENSE, Net-a-Porter, Lane Crawford, Holt Renfrew and David Jones.

Selfridges was founded by Harry Gordon Selfridge, changing the world of retail forever when the first store was opened on Oxford Street in 1909. Since then, the brand has opened three stores in Manchester and Birmingham.

Selfridges has been a key reinventor of retail with innovation across in-store experiences and brand partnerships with leaders in luxury. This includes Dior at Alto rooftop collaboration, the opening of Selfridges Cinema, and helping to launch industry disruptors and emerging retail innovators including Charlotte Tilbury and Pangaia.

Building on over a decade of retail activism, in 2020 Selfridges launched Project Earth, its evergreen sustainability strategy, with bold targets to reinvent retail and meet its commitment to a net zero future. Selfridges aims to help customers change the way they shop in three ways: by addressing the materials used in products, launching and exploring new retail models such as resell, repair, refill and rental, and engaging with teams, partners and customers to inspire a shift in mindsets. Selfridges has made ambitious 2030 targets for everything it builds, buys and sells to meet its environmental and ethical standards; for 45% of transactions to come from circular products and services; and to build an inclusive retail culture in which teams, communities and customers put people and planet first in all decision making. Underpinning Project Earth is a broader commitment to Science Based Targets and to achieve net-zero carbon across the business by 2040 as a signatory to the Climate Pledge.
