FEED YOUR IMAGINATION THIS SUMMER AT THE IMAGINATION CAFÉ

20 July 2026. Selfridges opens an Imagination Café at the centre of its London store, with afternoon tea menu by Malik Acid and immersive art installation from Katie Stout, inviting visitors to gather, dine and dream.

Dolly’s Café on the lower ground is transformed into an artist-designed hub where art, food and ideas collide. A menu by food & drink creatives Malik Acid includes a ‘Wildest Imagination’ afternoon tea, three cocktails made with Three Spirits elixirs and an all-day menu of savoury and sweet dishes.

Co-founded in 2024 by Cameron and Missy Malik-Flynn, Malik Acid is a food and drink agency that creates original culinary concepts at the intersection of flavour, design and culture.

A dreamscape backdrop to the Imagination Café as well as large-scale artwork in the central atrium above, drawing imagination upwards, are designed by artist Katie Stout. Inflatable horses, butterflies, snails and other creatures are suspended from the ceiling in a surreal, immersive installation.

Cameron Malik-Flynn says: “When we started Malik Acid, one of the very first experiences we added to our dream project list was afternoon tea. It’s a dining experience with huge creative potential and while the ritual itself is timeless, the flavour profiles have remained largely unchanged.

“Through the Malik Acid lens, we reimagined it with brighter, more contemporary flavours, creating unexpected moments of surprise across every tier whilst also takinginspiration from artist Katie Stout’s bold use of colour and exaggerated forms. Expect tropical notes, herbs, spices and a range of tea flavours in both the food and drink, playfully presented to take you somewhere unexpected!

All three cocktails contain Three Spirits non-alcoholic elixir, designed to induce different states of thinking: social (peach and matcha champagne cocktail), livener (tequila, cherry & darjeeling tea highball) and nightcap (fig leaf, miso and sencha tea gin sour). Guests are invited to try all three as part of a unique drinking experience; a journey through emotional states and flavours. The Malik Acid take on petit four includes a black tea caramel chocolate bon bon, sour lychee gummy and a mango choux pastry paired with a dessert-like cocktail made with a matcha foam, blurring the lines between food, dessert and drink.

The Wildest Imagination Afternoon Tea (£75) includes prawn gilda, beetroot devilled egg, wild mushroom tartlet, ricotta and herb crostino, mini club sandwich, salted olive oil scone with clotted cream and morello cherry jam or blood orange marmalade, petit four (black tea caramel bon bon, lychee gummy, mango choux and chamomile financier), cherry dream cake, a pot of Selfridges tea or Darjeeling sparkling tea, peach velvet cocktail or glass of champagne plus a gift to take away.

The Imagination Café sits at the heart of Dream On, a celebration of creativity, imagination and original experiences at Selfridges this summer. It’s an invitation from Selfridges to disconnect from the everyday and be transported into a world of imagination, where dreams come to life. Its stores become a canvas for dreamers, with ideas unfolding across windows, installations, pop ups, live appearances and a curated line-up of events. Spanning emerging creatives to internationally acclaimed voices, imagineers dream up programming, destinations and experiences, showing up as their most imaginative selves.

The Imagination Café opens on 20 July on the Lower Ground floor for a three-month duration. To book a table for afternoon tea please visit:
